So, this is where I am supposed to tell you all about myself and brag about my accomplishments.. right?
I would love to stick to the need-to-know facts, but everyone who already knows me will tell you, that is probably impossible. I have a serious problem with keeping things short and sweet. Not because I am a bad writer (I actually am very fond of my writing style and capabilities) but, because I am a perfectionist. If something doesn’t flow right, if I leave out a part that may explain something a little bit better for you, then I just won’t be happy with my piece. Point blank… so read what you want, stop when you wish, and come back and visit whenever you’d like!
If you don’t know already, my name is Shelby Goldman! I am currently living in NYC for the summer, before I return to finish my last year in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am a huge “foodie,” which I like to think of as someone who loves the culinary arts and everything that has to do with food media. I just returned from a Semester at Sea where I traveled to 13 countries and tasted cuisines from around the world–but, I truly believe that each and everyone of those flavors can be found right here, in New York City. I take recreational classes at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in their new Center for Food Media and I take cooking classes there, too!
I want to thank you for reading my blog; My goal this summer is to explore the great culinary scene of NYC and share it all with you. From food events, the restaurants I eat at and the great chefs behind it all… I want to learn everything I can and take a huge bite out of this incredible industry that I admire so much.
Last but not least, I feel I always need to throw in a disclaimer. You see, I have a hard time lying and am just plain, down right, crudely honest. In my opinion, this is not a bad thing, but it doesn’t always get me in the best of situations! I think it is important to be able to write what you think/feel… so, despite the fact that I have little to no filter, I will tell you this: this is a bullshit free blog.
